Inlays

In terms of tooth fillings, inlays represent the treatment solution of highest quality, and are always indicated in the case of defects too large for a „standard“ plastic filling, or if patients wish to have the best quality and longest-lasting solution.

Long-term post-treatment studies have shown that gold inlays are functionally the best choice, although, when visible, are often seen in a negative way in terms of aesthetics. On the other hand, ceramic inlays provide both good functional properties and a perfect-looking result. However, in some circumstances, for example, for patients who grind their teeth or press them together, or when the edges of the inlays are located deeply under the gums, ceramic inlays are perhaps not the best solution.

Here too the correct choice needs to be identified in a patient/dentist consultation.
