Following the successful introduction and implementation of a Quality Management System with the company BB-Medica, and after a year-long preparation period, on 1 March 2009 the „Luisenhospital Dental Clinic“ became the first dental practice in Aachen to achieve TÜV (German Testing Agency) certification.

The introduction of Qualitative Management in medical and dental practices is an absolute necessity and will become mandatory and subject to inspections from next year.

DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 is the QM system to be applied across all sectors and provides the best preconditions for both high medical standards and the ongoing enhancement of business and organisational processes in the interest of patients.

Achieving certification from the independent TÜV organization is confirmation that the dental treatment provided at the Luisenhospital Dental Clinic meets all specified requirements.

Quality management means that workflows, administration and, more importantly, hygiene checks (e.g. sterilisation processes) have been optimized, placed under ongoing monitoring and regularly reviewed. The setting up of a QM system is of benefit to everybody, including patients, ensuring, as the name already indicates, a defined level of quality. Only by continuing ongoing training and reoptimizing all working and organisational processes can we be certain of providing our patients with up-to-date and patient-facing care.
